Known as ‘the Rice Bowl of India’, Chhattisgarh is the 10th largest state of the country, with an area of 135,194 sq km. The state is home to a rich cultural heritage and has a variety of tourist places. The lush green forests, dotted with picturesque waterfalls, stunning plateaus and winding rivers offer a feast to eyes. The caves and forts of a forgotten era add glam to the variety of tourist attractions.

Chhattisgarh also has an important role in the life of lord Rama as he along with his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshman resided more than 10 years of their Vanvas period in different places of Chhattisgarh.

The state is a significant source of electricity and steel for India. It is one of the fastest-developing states in India. Currently the state comprises 27 districts.
